FITTING THE BACK

The back is glued to the ribs using specially made cramps and animal glue
 
THE PURFLING
As well as providing decoration to the bass the inlay or purfling also provides strength by preventing splitting.

 The purfling grooves are cut with a double bladed knife and small gouges.
