About CL Jazz

A positive attitude

The course aims to give aspiring (and perspiring!) jazz musicians the opportunity to play with like minded people in a mutually encouraging and relaxed environment. Both experienced players and beginners are welcome. There will be band workshops, optional sessions , late night jam sessions, course concerts and more.

Instrumentalists and vocalists

Groups will cater for instrumentalists and vocalists and a limited number of non-players can be accommodated.

A range of jazz styles

We encourage tutors and students to include a range of jazz styles and different approaches and there will also be opportunities for players to put up their own arrangements and compositions.

Groups are arranged to get an instrumental balance as far as possible and work towards performances at different times during the weekend. There are also opportunities for students to perform on a more ad hoc basis.

Friendly and supportive

We work in a friendly and supportive atmosphere where students of all abilities are encouraged. There is a strong social element to the course and time will be available for those who wish to enjoy the surrounding countryside or just prop up the bar.

CL JAZZ COURSES

All instruments are welcome but since the number of rhythm section players is limited, these are advised to book early to avoid disappointment. (CLICK LINKS)
